Thousands Experiencing Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, producing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.

Residents observed giant hailstones as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that different parts across the state had been hit with significant hail.

Victorian Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At the height on Sunday, over 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were without power.

Moist weather were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after past events where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
