Just as bad weather tore through the northern region the night before, City blew Manchester United away at the their home ground. It was a result that clearly signaled their leadership claims as they strengthened their position at the league summit.

Consecutive Setbacks for United

This result represented consecutive league setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the maiden instance since May 2024, placing them seven points off the top team with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
