It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and once went nearly four years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

These statements will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph coming after win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing with the discomfort.
